On November 5, 1937, Disney released The Old Mill, one of the most important Silly Symphonies. It was the first to use the multiplane camera, a groundbreaking innovation that would be employed in Disney’s feature films, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, and beyond. The short also features more lifelike depictions of animals and a stunning storm sequence. It went on to win the Academy Award for Best Short Subject (Cartoons). | Disney History Channel

The Pottery House Cafe was once the original family home, built in 1954 and designed by famed architect Hubert Bebb, of the potter who started the pottery next door in 1946. Their living room and dining room are now our dining room. The flagstone floor and stacked stone fireplace are original, as well as the vaulted ceilings and huge windows that allow you to take in the breathtaking vista of Mt. LeConte throughout the seasonal changes. Bebb was known for designs inspired by their surroundings,
